Series Definitions
3. The Series begins at 8AM on the first day of competition and ends at 6pm on the final day of competition, comprising of several race events across various locations and dates.
4. Six Categories of racing will be conducted as part of the Series:
Elite Women (WELITE)
Elite Men (MELITE)
Open Women (WOMEN)
Open Men (MEN)
Masters Women (WMAS)
Masters Men (MMAS)
5. Grade: Competition within a Masters or Open Category. Some Categories will require 1, 2 or 3 grades depending on the number of Teams entered at the beginning of the Series.
6. Club: Any cycling club based in South Australia with a current AusCycling affiliation, not including Riding Groups.

2. General Rules
1. Glassware of any kind must not be used to carry food or drink or be used to pass on to a rider.
2. A rider who holds on to or receives pace from a moving vehicle or receives any other outside assistance may be penalised.
3. In circuit races, lapped rider(s) may be withdrawn when they are too far behind to affect the result. When such riders are permitted to continue, they must not assist or interfere with any other competitor and shall not give pace to the riders who have lapped them.
4. In out and back races, a rider not going to the turning point must withdraw.
5. A rider who rides or acts in a manner considered dangerous to other competitors or the public will be penalised.
6. A rider who pushes or pulls another rider, or interferes with the progress of another rider, may be penalised.
7. During a road sprint, it shall be forbidden to interfere with the progress of another rider. Riders must maintain a straight line to the finish and not change their racing line to prevent another rider from passing. Failure to do so may incur a penalty.
8. It shall be an offence to leave the sealed portion of the carriageway to gain an advantage. At the finish a rider who leaves the road surface must cease to sprint.
9. The PCP may at their discretion withdraw a rider from further competition, if in the opinion of the PCP that rider or their equipment is not in a fit state to continue in the competition.
10. During races the use of radio links or other means of communication with the riders is not permitted.
3. Team Composition & Entry
1. Each Team in Elite Men, Open Men or Masters Men may nominate up to 8 riders to constitute their Team List.
2. Each Team in Elite Women may nominate up to 6 riders, in Open Women or Masters Women each team may nominate up to 5 riders to constitute their Team List.
3. After the beginning of the Series, no additional riders may be added to a Team List.
4. Each Team will be treated as its own separate group and there is no recognition of shared Teams across grades or Categories.
5. Every Team must have a unique Team Name, even if their jersey and team management are shared across multiple teams. Teams that would submit identical Team Names will be required to include a colour in each Team Name to form their unique name.
6. A rider can only compete for one Team for the duration of the Series.
7. If a rider wishes to compete in a different Category or Grade either as an individual or representing another team, they must be delisted by their existing Team.
4. Team Managers’ Responsibilities
1. It is required that all teams competing in the Super Series will have a Team Manager who will be the primary contact for the Team.
2. Meeting sponsorship requirements a Team has agreed with their own sponsors or any other Team duties will not be the responsibility of Series Organisers.
3. Team Managers will be held responsible for their conduct and that of any other support staff they deem necessary – all of whom must hold a minimum of a non-Riding licence with AusCycling.
4. It is the responsibility of Team Managers to ensure that The Team’s Series Numbers are picked up from Round 1 and returned at the Final Round. Series Organisers will not be responsible for maintaining a Team’s Series Numbers throughout the Series.
5. The list of riders for each team must be submitted by the deadline dates listed in Schedule 1 prior to each round. The submission link will be made available both on the website and in an email to Team Managers at the beginning of the week prior to each Round.
6. All competitors’ transponders and body numbers will be the responsibility of the Team Manager (or Team Captain) / Rider for the duration of the Series. The Team Manager will ensure the race number on each rider is that allocated to the nominated competitor, who is registered on the timing system to correspond with the allocated transponder.
7. The race numbers are securely affixed to each rider. Non-compliance with this requirement will incur a penalty.
8. A management meeting will be held at the start of some Rounds. Meeting times will be advised in the Round Info document and on the day by the Chief Commissaire. Should a Team Manager (or Team Captain) not be in attendance at the commencement of the meeting, then a penalty may apply at the discretion of the Chief Commissaire.
9. Team Managers shall advise the Race Director by no later than 30 minutes before that category’s race Start Time of any late withdrawals and/or alterations to their named team.
10. Appeal or clarification of a decision made by a commissaire may only be done by a Team Manager, subject to Section 17 - Appeals.
5. Rider Responsibilities
1. Rider Sign On is the responsibility of each individual rider for each round and each individual rider must present to Sign On prior to racing. Failure to sign on may incur a fine.
2. Every rider is responsible for ensuring their AusCycling license is active and appropriate for the category they are participating in. Licences are only required to be sighted for non-financial or new AusCycling members, however any rider may be asked to produce proof of their membership if their license cannot otherwise be verified.
6. Round Entry
1. The maximum number of riders entered per round is outlined in the ‘Schedule of Rounds’.
2. Guest riders may compete in a team providing they are not registered with another team competing in the series. Guest riders will not receive team ranking points; they will not be considered as one of the riders contributing to points and also will not be awarded General Classification points.
3. All requests for guest riders must be lodged in writing with Series Organisers before entries close for that round. This can be via email or as part of the Team Entry online form.
4. A guest rider for a Team must wear that Team’s recognised jersey, unless they have UCI contractual obligations which would prohibit them from doing so.
7. Delisted Riders
1. Delisted riders who continue to participate in the same Grade will retain any GC points they have won to that point but will not contribute to any Team Points aggregation.
2. A rider who is delisted from a Team may not be added back into that Team’s Rider List.
3. A rider who is delisted may ride as a Guest Rider for any team.
8. Rider Eligibility & Membership

2. All riders in Elite Categories must hold an active AusCycling Race All Discipline license, valid for the duration of the Series.
3. All riders in Open & Masters Categories must hold an active AusCycling Race All Discipline license OR Four Week Free Trial OR Event License valid at the time of each event.
4. Age Requirements:
Riders in Elite and Open Categories must be born in 2008 or earlier.
Riders in the Masters Categories must be born in in 1995 or earlier.
9. Recognised Team Kit
1. Riders in Elite Categories shall wear the Team’s recognised jersey and knicks at all Rounds of the series except by express approval from Series Organisers.
2. Riders who have contractual obligations to nationally or internationally registered teams may wear their trade team’s knicks and their Super Series Team’s recognised jersey.
3. Riders in Open and Masters Categories are required to wear the team’s recognised jersey and are encouraged to wear either team knicks or plain coloured knicks.
4. Riders who are the GC Leader in the series shall wear the Series Leaders’ jersey at the next Round, in lieu of their team jersey.
5. Individual Riders may only wear a Team’s recognised jersey if that Team is not competing in the Category and Grade that the Individual Rider is competing in.
10. Race Numbers, Transponders and Rear Lights
1. The wearing of numbers shall be compulsory in competition.
2. The numbers cannot be altered, cut, or folded and shall be affixed securely on four corners unless approved by the event organiser or President of the Commissaire Panel (PCP).
3. Clear pockets may be used if the numbers are fully visible in timed events only. No other accessories may cover the numbers.
4. Riders must wear two numbers during all rounds of the Series. Including the Team Time Trial. One of these numbers should be in the middle of the lower back and the other should be on the hip or side of the lower back facing the judges at the finish line.
5. All riders will be provided with a bike plate transponder which must be mounted horizontally from the seatpost or above the rear wheel.
If a rider wishes to use their own RaceResult passive transponder, they simply need to update their Transponder number at sign-on and affix their Race Number sticker to the transponder plate.
6. Race numbers and transponders are not interchangeable between riders. If a race number and/or transponder do not match a rider, that rider may be fined and/or disqualified by the Chief Commissaire. Riders shall not be permitted to start without a visible race number at any event.
7. A red flashing rear light must be mounted and turned on during racing at the Old Freeway Kermesse, Mypolonga Kermesse and Loxton Road Race.
11. No Collusion
1. Riders shall not initiate or ride to instructions to unfairly collude with riders from another team or entered individually by deliberately blocking, impeding or unfairly affecting the progress of riders from third-party teams.
2. This does not include riders from different teams working together in good faith.
3. This does not include riders from different teams who manage by good positioning to take advantage of another team’s lead out.
4. Riders or teams determined by the Chief Commissaire to have breached collusion rules may be penalised. Teams can receive fines, loss of points and/or disqualification from the Round. Repeat offenders may be disqualified from the series.
5. Non-Selected Team Riders racing as individuals must not collude with members of their Team or be seen to be riding as if they were part of their Team.
12. Points
1. The 2025 Super Series shall be a points series.
2. The points system is the same for all categories.
3. Points towards the GENERAL CLASSIFICATION (GC) shall be cumulative and awarded each Round as per Points Table 1.
4. Points towards the SPRINT (SP) classification shall be cumulative and awarded throughout the Series to the first three (3) riders over the line for each designated prime sprint and be awarded as per Points Table 1. Sprint points will be awarded even in the event that a rider does not finish the race. The number of Sprints at any given round will be outlined in the Round Info.
5. Points towards the YOUNG RIDER (YR) classification shall be cumulative and awarded each Round to the first three qualifying riders to finish as per Schedule 2.
6. Points towards the MASTERS (M) & OVER-AGE (OA) classifications shall be cumulative and awarded each Round to the first three riders to finish in the age categories as per Schedule 2.
7. The SUPER SERIES TEAM classification shall be cumulative and determined by adding together the General Classification (GC) points of each individual on that team’s roster with the exception of the Team Time Trial. The team with the highest aggregate points at the completion of the Series is the winner. Individual Riders cannot contribute to a Team’s points tally.
8. If two riders are on equal points as leader of any classification, a count back of the most number of wins will determine the leader. If riders are still tied, then the rider who has placed highest/scored the most points at the most recent round shall be declared the leader/winner. In the Sprint Classification this shall be the most recent prime sprint.
9. Age categories will be finalised after team lists have been submitted and appropriate age categories decided to ensure fairness. Age Category points can be awarded to a rider who has been withdrawn from their race by officials, per the Chief Commissaire's discretion.
10. A rider will qualify or not qualify for any age category based on their age on December 31, 2025.
13. Team Time Trial
1. A team, upon catching another, shall leave a lateral gap of at least 2 metres between them.
2. After 1 km, the team caught shall ride at least 25 m away from the other.
3. In no case may a team ‘sit-in’ behind another team that it has caught. They must remain at least 25m behind until it is safe to pass.
4. A rider who has been dropped by their team cannot re-join it by waiting for its arrival on the next leg or assist in any way another team.
5. Time Trial Equipment is NOT to be used for the TTT. This includes, but is not limited to:
Time Trial wheels – including discs, tri-spokes, wheels with depth greater than 90mm
Time Trial Bikes
Clip on aero bars
Time Trial Helmets
6. The team’s official time shall be taken from the third (3rd) rider over the line.
7. Individual and Team Points will be awarded based on overall rankings in each Category, before the non-Elite Categories are divided as per 22.2. Where a Category is divided, all riders and teams will retain their points into their new Grade.
8. Individual rider points awarded for the TTT shall be based upon general classification points. For example, each rider finishing no more than 30 seconds after the third rider in the first-place team shall be awarded 20 points towards their individual GC tally.
9. Dropped team members will be awarded the same individual rider points provided they finish within 30 seconds of their team’s third (3rd) rider over the line.
10. Dropped team members finishing more than 30 seconds outside the time recorded by their team’s third (3rd) rider over the line will be awarded no GC points.
11. Team points from the TTT are not the sum of that Team’s GC points for the Round. Team points shall be awarded as per Points Table 1.
14. Classification Precedence
1. There is potential in the series that a rider may qualify as the leader for more than one classification. In such cases the classification that is deemed to hold higher precedence shall prevail and the rider shall wear that jersey / number. Series classifications are ranked in the following order of precedence, highest to lowest: GC > Sprint > Masters/Young Rider
2. A jersey will be awarded to the leader of the General Classification after each Round.
3. If the GC leader is unavailable to compete in a given Round, the next highest placed rider in that classification will wear the leader’s jersey.
15. At the Start
1. At each round the classification leaders of each category (GC, Sprint, Young Rider, Masters and Over Age shall line up on the front row.
2. Call Up – Where a Start Area has been indicated in the round info, Riders congregating at the start area prior to race start will be called to the Start Line, after classification leaders and before Riders who did not congregate at the Start Area.
16. During the Race
1. If a rider is lapped or not deemed to be racing during the race, Commissaires may advise them to withdraw and exit the course. If Commissaires withdraw riders from the race they will be placed in the results for that round. At the Commissaires’ discretion, riders may be withdrawn from racing before being lapped if they are deemed likely to be caught.
2. No rider is to travel backwards on the course under any circumstance, even to attend the Pit Area. Riders who travel backwards on the course may receive a warning, fine, relegation or disqualification.
3. During a prime or final sprint any rider who leaves the road surface must cease to sprint. Any rider who fails to do so will be relegated to last in the group.
17. At the Finish
1. The finish shall be judged from the leading edge of the front wheel at the point of the tangent with a vertical plane extended above the finishing line.
2. The placings are determined by the order of crossing the finish line at the end of the race. In the case of a dead heat for any position the placegetters will be awarded equal placing with the next placing not stated.
3. Team Managers (or Team Captains) shall ensure that all team members who are eligible for a podium or classification points are present at the post-race presentations to acknowledge sponsors and winners. Failure to attend presentations may result in a loss of any points to be awarded to the rider in question unless Series Organisers have been notified prior to the beginning of presentation. Series Organisers will aim to commence presentations within 20 minutes of race completion unless scheduled otherwise in the Round Info.
4. Individual Riders will be responsible for ensuring they are present at post-race presentations.
5. All riders must present in race attire as per AusCycling regulations.
18. Replacement Fees
1. No transponder bond will be charged; however, teams will be charged for lost or damaged transponders at $15.00 per transponder. This will be charged to the team immediately if the transponder is not returned to Series Organisers within 5 business days of the event in question.
2. A fee of $10.00 per pair of numbers will be charged for replacement of lost, cut or forgotten numbers.
19. Prizemoney
1. Prizes will be awarded based on the Prize Money Payout Table and the Non-Monetary Prize Table in Schedule 5.
20. Penalties
1. All racing will be conducted within the rules and regulations governing the sport and the Chief Commissaire may impose penalties as deemed necessary in the circumstances. Please refer to the AusCycling Technical Regulations for Road for further information. These are available at https://auscycling.org.au/clubs/event-organiser-hub/technical-regulations
2. All Team Rider fines are sent through to the Team Manager for payment. Fines are to be paid no later than 7 days after they have been issued.
3. Individual Riders will be issued fines directly.
4. See Schedule 3 for a full breakdown of special penalties, and refer to the AusCycling Technical Regulations for a full penalty schedule.
21. Appeals
1. Where Team Management or the individual (in the case of non-team riders) would like to query the decision, they must first approach the PCP concerning any incident in an event.
2. As per AusCycling Regulations, an appeal against a decision of the Chief Commissaire may only occur in the case where an in-competition penalty of a fine (imposed by the Chief Commissaire or Commissaires’ Panel) exceeds $250. Decisions to Warn, Relegate, or Disqualify are not appealable.
3. Appeals must be made in writing within 15 minutes of notification of the decision by the Chief Commissaire or within 15 minutes of the conclusion of the race, whichever is later.
4. An appeal may not be made solely on the basis of a lack of video footage.
22. Categories & Grades
1. In the Open and Masters Categories, there will be no maximum number of Teams (until field size is maxed out for safety). Instead, after the deadline for Team Entries has passed and before the first round, the number of grades for each Category will be determined to ensure each Grade has an appropriate number of Teams.
Example: 21 Teams enter the Open Men Category. After consultation with the Team Managers, it’s decided that there will be 8 teams in Open Men 1, 7 teams in Open Men 2 and 6 teams in Open Men 3.
2. All Teams entered in the Category will take part in the Team Time Trial in Round 1 of the Series, and will be subsequently separated into grades based on the results of the Team Time Trial.
Example: After the Team Time Trial, the fastest 8 teams qualify for Open Men 1, the next 7 for Open Men 2, and the final 6 for Open Men 3.
23. Mid-Season Promotion & Relegation
1. At the mid-season break listed in Schedule 1, Teams in the Open and Masters Categories will be eligible for promotion or relegation from their Grade to a higher or lower Grade based on their points in the Teams Classification.
2. Team Promotion and Relegation will only take place where doing so will not leave less than 5 teams in one Grade.
3. Any Team with less than 10 points in their Grade (not including points won in the Team Time Trial) will be relegated to the grade immediately lower in the same Category.
4. Teams in the lowest Grade cannot be relegated.
5. Any Team with a lead of more than 30 points over the second-placed Team in their Grade will be promoted to the grade immediately above in the same Category.
6. Teams in the highest Grade cannot be promoted.
7. Any Team that is promoted or relegated will have their Team Classification Points adjusted to be equal to the total number of Team Points won divided by the number of teams in their new Grade.
8. This calculation will be done prior to the relegation or promotion.
9. Riders in any Team that is relegated will retain any GC points they have won individually.
10. Riders in any Team that is promoted will retain half of the GC points they have won individually.
24. Acceptance of terms and conditions
1. It is a condition of entry into the Super Series that Teams, Team Managers, riders and support crew accept the terms and conditions and the rules and regulations associated with this series. By nominating a team and registering, these are deemed to have been accepted.
25. Discretionary right of Series Organisers
1. Notwithstanding the Special Rules of this series, the Series Organiser has the right to make amendments in good faith that are in the best interests of promoting the sport, the series, Series sponsors and riders.
